Saret Organic Farmville is a company of entrepreneurs on mission. It was founded last March 2013 by Engr. Guillermo “Jun” Saret Jr. His children, Paul Gerard Saret (a former banker and affiliate of Servants of the Word, a lay missionary brotherhood) and Ruth Felice Saret (an OFW chef working in the States) eventually joined him as they officially commence business operations a year later, in February 2014. They are active members of charismatic communities (Ligaya ng Panginoon, Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals, and Lingkod ng Panginoon) who decided to put up this social agribusiness to help the poor (particularly farmers and aspiring microentrepreneurs) and evangelize the marketplace. Engr. Jun was the SVP of Pascual Laboratories, a top pharmaceutical company and President of Leonie Agri Corporation; Gerard was doing well in his career as an Account Officer at a local bank, garnering promotions and awards in his early 20’s; whereas, Felice was on her way to pursuing a dream working abroad as a chef. They all left their materially abundant lives in order to pursue the social enterprise. Saret Organic Farmville, with the help of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, and Department of Science and Technology is now supporting more than 8 farmer groups (roughly more than 30 individuals from farmer families, associations, and cooperatives) including a farmers’ association they helped establish themselves called Kaanib ng Kalikasan. They have successfully launched 6 brands in the food/beverage and herbal industries. Plus, their products are already available in Metro Manila and more than 23 Provinces in the Philippines through their retail and distribution partners. Having limited resources, very little background in entrepreneurship, a handful of employees, Saret Organic Farmville only relies on faith and God’s provision mixed with some love and encouragement from their friends and families.
